Ocean Focus aims to engage with as many people as possible in marine conservation by holding regular events and education programmes. We encourage environmental awareness and help people understand just how important healthy oceans are to our every day lives. U.S. shark week 2012:  After the success of our Sharkwater screenings for European shark week last October, this August we aim to screen a brand new feature film for U.S. shark week. Details coming soon!

Past Events…

World oceans day 2012: Ocean Focus organised a community art event aimed at promoting the oceans through art. We helped families rediscover the importance of healthy oceans and waterways and managed to engage with over 100 local children who all learnt about ocean ecology whilst getting covered in paint – what’s not to love?

European shark week 2011: During the week we organised three screenings of the multi-award winning film Sharkwater by Canadian film maker Rob Stewart, and managed to gather over 100 signatures towards the Make the Push Shark Alliance petition that aims to close the loopholes in the current EU legislation on shark finning.
